Extraordinary (Public Transport)

We've partnered with Extraordinary to offer a public transport salary sacrifice scheme where you can pay for your commute using pre-tax income, keeping roughly 30% or up to $900 in your pockets every year.

Here's how it works - Let's say you spend $50 per week on public transport:

Old way: You'd pay $50 from your after-tax pay

New way: It only costs you around $31 from your take-home pay, but you still get the full $50 loaded to your Extraordinary card - because the sacrifice happens before PAYE, ACC, and KiwiSaver are calculated. That's effectively $18.53 extra in your pocket every week, or over $900 a year.  

You can use your allocated amount straight from the Extraordinary app or transfer it to your existing transport card – AT HOP, Snapper, Metrocard, Bee Card, and all major NZ networks are covered, making this accessible no matter where in NZ you're based. The scheme is backed by a binding Inland Revenue Product Ruling, so the tax treatment is confirmed and watertight.

Who's eligible?

All permanent full-time and permanent part-time FCTG employees who mainly use public transport to commute. That's it.

Use this simple SIGN-UP FORM to enter your preferred sacrifice amount and complete a short declaration at the end, which will then be processed by our finance team. Make sure to sign up before 11 May to ensure the transfer is processed before the next pay period.
